Letter to parents - re-opening 8th March 2021
MONDAY 4 JANUARY 2021
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Dear Parents and Carers,
As many of you will be aware, the Government announced this evening that we are returning to a full lock down from midnight tonight. Because of the increasing rates of transmission we would reiterate the Prime Minister’s request that if at all possible, pupils should remain at home.
We have met with the other headteachers from our Trust and agreed that we will continue to remain open for vulnerable pupils and the children of critical workers involved in the fight against COVID only. We have already sent out an initial questionnaire for our key workers which will help us prioritise and plan our provision. We may need to get back in touch if demand is greater than capacity.
In the absence of any detailed government guidance, I must ask that unless you are a critical worker in the fight against COVID and HAVE NO OTHER OPTION, please keep your child/ren at home whilst we put a plan in place. Over the holidays teachers had planned a return to face-to-face teaching but now have to make plans for online; the fewer pupils we have in school the sooner we can finalise and share our planning with you. We will get some ideas, work and tasks up for Wednesday but it will be Monday before we can offer our full remote learning plan.
We recognise that this is incredibly difficult news; so please bear with us while we respond to this latest development. If you have any URGENT questions please email me on nikki.prentice@stcmat.org
Thank you for your understanding,
Kind regards and the whole St Marychurch Team.
This page is to help and support our parents and carers during these uncertain times.
Any letters of information from Mrs Prentice, either from the school itself or from other agencies, will be put on this page.
We hope that this will help.
