Year 1/2
In this mixed Year 1 and 2 class we organise our learning experiences to ensure that all children are given the opportunity to reach their full potential. Within our diverse curriculum, we prepare our Year 2 children for their end of key stage one SAT's.
Below are some examples of life in our Year 1 and 2 class.
We learnt about North American Indians, at the end of our topic we asked our parents to come in and experience what learning was like in our class. We got to be the teachers and help our parents, we even got to eat in a tee-pee!

We know that we learn best through different types of experences both inside and outside the classroom. Here are some photographs that show us learning maths outside, hot seating, looking at the school environment and using the laptops.

We enjoyed reading the book Owl Babies by Martin Waddell, from that we made our own Owl Babies, made non-fiction books about owls and even had a visit from some real owls that we were able to hold!

We know that we are lucky to live near the sea, this summer term we visited the Geo-Park at Goodrington. We took a trip back in time to when dinosaurs roamed the earth, compiled a sensory map, looked at the creatures in the rockpools and created our own sand art to rivial Western Super Mare!! We had such a fun day out!
