Do you have a passion for SEND?


Due to our current SENDCo going on maternity leave we are seeking a Special Needs Co-ordinator for two days a week to cover from 3 June 2019 for approximately 12 months.


This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a good understanding of how to help children with specific and non-specific learning difficulties succeed in the mainstream classroom. You will need to have a passion for supporting children with a wide range of academic and social, emotional learning needs. You will need to be able to develop strong relationships with the children and their families.


The role involves advising, observing, supporting, report writing and liaising with a wide range of external agencies. Your role will feed into the wider pastoral team and will include liaising with the FSW, attendance officer, counsellor and school based pastoral leads. You will need to attend meetings and cascade information to colleagues, leading training where appropriate.


The role will be paid at a maximum of MPS 6.


The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:

We will offer support from expertise within our own team, Torbay LA and our own MAT.
