Recent Achievements

At St Marychurch Primary, we are proud of all of our achievements. Here are some examples of just a few of them:

Our Girls' Football Team Win the League for the second year in a row!

Congratulations to our Y5/6 Girls' Football Team, who have won their league (2010/11) for the second year in a row!

St Marychurch Crowned Joint Winners at Basketball Festival!

The children from Year 6, who were from classes 2CH and 2AG, were an asset to the school. The sporting ability and behaviour shown by all of the children was yet again fantastic.

The Multi-Sports Festival took placde at St Cuthbert Mayne Secondary School on Wednesday 2nd March 2011. The festival involved two seperate activities; Basketball and Tag Rugby!

St Marychurch were the joint winners of the Basketball event along with another school. The children were fantastic at using the Basketball skills, that they had learnt in PE lessons, effectively to help them win most of their games. Despite not winning the Tag Rugby event, the children still showed a very pleasing attitude and didn't give up throughout!

Well done to all children involved and a special thanks to the adults who helped accompany the children!

Inspection Grades St Marychurch Primary as OUTSTANDING!

St Marychurch Primary are now classified as one of the top Church schools in the Diocese of Exeter and nationally too!

After an inspection on Wednesday 2nd February 2011, our SIAS inspection report grades us as OUTSTANDING in every aspect of the report. This is such good news!

Now we have come to the end of the current round of inspections, we must not sit on our laurels and become complacent. I believe that this school is thriving on it's newly found self confidence and success. This will help us as we move into a new era in Education where there will be new opportunities, challenges and ways forward. We will be able to determine our own future based on the needs of our children and families in this community.

OFSTED Grade St Marychurch Primary as GOOD with OUTSTANDING Features!

At our recent OFSTED inspection (Dec 2010), we were told that we are a good school with several outstanding features!!

OFSTED's report states that St Marychurch is a good school with a strong sense of the closely knit community that it serves so well. There are several outstanding features, such as the high quality care, guidance and support provided by the staff and excellent clubs and visits that promote the pupils' exemplary contributions to learning and to school and community events. It is a very caring, inclusive school where all pupils achieve well in relation to their capabilities, both academically and personally. Under the very well-considered leadership of an experienced headteacher, and with a strengthened, team approach to management and governance, it is an improving school.
